Jill Zweibelson

Jill is a graduate History student whose research focuses on food studies, exploring the ways food shapes culture, identity, and historical memory. A Connecticut native, she earned her B.A. in Political Science from Methodist University before attending culinary school. Somewhere between studying politics and learning to cook professionally, she discovered that history was the perfect way to bring her interests together.  Since joining the graduate program, she has also become actively involved in the department, serving as Secretary of the History Graduate Student Association (HGSA).

With over 20 years as a military spourse and mom to boys, Jill enjoys world traveling and discovering new places—especially if there's food involved. Ironically, she's just as happy staying home with her pets and rewatching Friends. She enjoys exploring how something as ordinary as food can tell extraordinary stories about people and the past.
