Writing Circles

OFA hosts regular writing circles year-around! This is a low‑pressure, supportive space to carve out protected time for any writing projects that may have been pushed to the back burner. Any and all kinds of writing projects are welcome! Whether you are prepping for a class, finally writing your opus, drafting, revising, or just trying to rebuild a writing habit, this is your time to focus on writing!

Teaching Circles

At UCCS, Teaching Circles are groups of 4-8 faculty members who meet at least two times during the semester to discuss readings and activities related to their teaching. These are great environments to explore different pedagogical techniques such as ungrading, use of AI in instruction, or flipped classrooms.

Communities of Practice

The Faculty Resource Center hosts communities of practice which are peer-led groups of educators meeting regularly to share ideas, solve common teaching challenges, and improve their professional skills through ongoing collaboration. Currently they have ongoing discussions about ungrading and humanizing education. Learn more about how to join below!

CU System-Wide Awards & Grants

The President’s Fund for the Humanities (PFH) Grant was established to promote the research and scholarly activities of faculty in the arts and humanities at CU.

The Chase Faculty Community Service Award honors a University of Colorado faculty member who, in addition to their university responsibilities, has, pro bono, provided exceptional educational, humanitarian, civics or other service in the community.

The Rank of Distinguished Professor is the highest rank a faculty member may achieve at CU. This title recognizes the outstanding contributions of tenured CU faculty members to their academic disciplines.

Campus-Level Awards & Grants

The Chancellor's Award recognizes Full-Time Tenure-Track faculty members who excel in two or more of the areas of teaching, research, and service.

The Faculty Assembly Service Award recognizes a faculty member who has provided outstanding service to the UCCS during the faculty member’s career.

The Faculty Assembly Outstanding Teacher Award recognizes excellence in teaching by Full-Time Tenure-Track faculty members.

The Faculty Assemby Outstanding Instructor Award recognizes excellence in teaching by Full-Time or Part-Time IRC faculty members.

The Wellness Champions Mini Grants were awarded to Wellness Champions that submitted proposals for events or programs that were rooted in wellbeing and focused on staff, students, and/or faculty.
