Dr. Emily Skop, Professor of Geography and Environmental Studies, serves as the Interim Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, where she is dedicated to enhancing faculty experiences and fostering work environments that contribute to the wellbeing, safety, and academic success of all faculty. She is passionate about advocating for those who have been “missing, silenced, unheard, or harmed,” and addressing issues that have been long-neglected and undervalued in higher education. A deeply values‑driven leader, Dr. Skop integrates her a strong interdisciplinary perspective and a solid track record of mentoring faculty and students with her commitments to care ethics, connections with the more-than-human world, and creative expression into her scholarship. Rooted in a deep commitment to getting communities to collaborate to solve issues, Dr. Skop brings her whole self to her leadership.
